About KIN Magazine

Official publication of Kin Canada, KIN Magazine is published in print three times a year (February, June and October) from the editorial office in Cambridge, Ontario.

The mission of KIN Magazine is to report Kin news by highlighting club service projects and member achievements. Also included are articles of general interest to our members. They include business, finance, travel, health and education.

History

Jan. 1, 1924 marked the first edition/issue of KIN, official organ of The International Association of Kinsmen Clubs. The issue was published in Hamilton, Ontario and the editors were Fred A. Black, John J. Common and G.C. Duncan. Subscription costs were $2/year for 10 issues. Advertising was mostly supplied by businesses owned by Kinsmen. In the 1940s the magazine became a tabloid. But by 1950 the look changed again when KIN Magazine was published in a Digest size for convenience in reading and handling. The '60s saw a return of a regular size magazine and a name of only KIN. The name returned to KIN Magazine in the '90s but before long it was changed to KIN Mag. In 2003, KIN Mag is renamed KIN Magazine to reflect a more polished and professional image.
