Celebrating Kinette Accomplishments
It's International Women's Day and we have a lot to celebrate. Kinettes across Canada have had an immeasureable impact on Canadian communities through service projects and fundraisers. In the picture on the right, the Newscastle Kinettes made a donation to the Miramichi Hospital in 1979. Our history is rich with Kinette accomplishments just like this. Kinette clubs were officially recognized in Kin Canada's by-laws in 1942 as an auxilary organization. In 1983, they were made full partners of the Association and our Association's name changed to include Kinettes in 1991. On the left, members of the Kinette Club of Stettler participated in the Kin Canada's National Day of Kindness in February 2013. They extended the kindness for a full month, with a special act of kindness every day in February! In this picture, two members are at their local Meals on Wheels, getting ready to deliver the meals on their route. Thanks to all Kinettes for serving your community's greatest needs. As the world celebrates International Women's Day 2013, we tip our hats to all the Kinettes out there who make a difference every day. What's great about the women in your lives? We invite you to share and celebrate in our comments. |
