Yes |
Description of project |
The club collected used books, games, CD's, DVD's and vinyl from the community, and then held a used book sale over a two day period. We partnered with a local book reseller, the community group who had held the sale in previous years, as well as the designated recipient of the event proceeds. Donations for the sale could be dropped off by the public at various locations within the community. They were then collected, sorted and priced for resale. |

If you answered yes to the question above, please explain: |
|
How was this project promoted in your community? |
We utilized a variety of promotional methods for the project: local news papers (print and on line), local radio station, social media (Facebook, Kijiji, community events pages) as well as attending local markets to promote the event. |
What were some challenges you faced with this project, and how could your project be improved? |
It was a challenge sorting and pricing the large volume of donations we received. Although donated, our venue location proved to be a little tight for the actual sale. A large number of donations were unsuitable for the sale, fortunately we were able to dispose of these items through a local charity. |
What was the approximate budget for this project? |
Less than $1,000 |

If this was a fundraiser, how much money was raised (minus expenses)? |
$5,000-$10,000 |
What were the expenses for this project? |
Expenses for the project were $404.00 against revenues of $9756.00. |
